Sister Hollin Henderson

  HELLO everybody! I am alive and well here in Channelview and let me just say...this place is so magical. I have never met such amazing people in my whole life and I could serve my whole mission here. The love these people have for one another is so incredible and the Pine Trails Ward is so awesome and I am so so so happy to be here!!! So yeah uh I got a new companion...MY MTC COMP SIS HARPER!!! We freaked out when we found out we were going to be companions!!! If you can't already tell I LOVE Channelview. The people here are so prepared for the gospel and they are so open to hearing us. I am such a believer that there are no such things as coincidences and man oh man we have seen so many miracles here! HEY EVERYONE!!! How is everybody doing? I love you all so much and pray for you guys all the time!  These last few weeks have been so crazy! I got the opportunity to go do hurricane clean up in New Orleans and Baton Rouge and it was so insane! There were about 475 missionaries so it was so cool to see everyone come together! Service is my favorite thing ever and it was such a cool experience! I learned that I never want to camp in the south ever again and I hate bugs...that's okay though!  On the flip side, we have seen so many miracles here in Baytown! My favorite quote is from Russell M. Nelson and he says, " The Lord loves effort because effort brings rewards that can't come without it." We were struggling finding people and we kept getting turned. We were in a pit and didn't know what more we could do. I learned that the best thing you can do is to keep pushing. We never gave up on these people and no matter how many times we got turned away, it motivated us e...

  HI FRIENDS!  How is everyone doing? I want you guys to know that I pray for you continually and hope you guys are doing well! These last two weeks were pretty crazy! I was so sick this last week which was NOT FUN but hey the work doesn't stop! I have found here that there are so many different ways to do missionary work and it is never an impossible thing. There is always work to be done!  We saw many miracles here in Baytown this week and the people are so sweet. One thing that I have loved about Texas is that people are not afraid to talk about God. He comes up in every single conversation with the people I come in contact with and I know that that is something that I want to be better at! Jesus Christ is the center of everything and everyone deserves to know how they can strengthen their relationship with their Savior! HIIIIII everybody!! How has everyone been? I LOVE reading everyone's emails and catching up! I pray for you guys daily and I hope you guys are doing amazing things wherever you are! These last two weeks were so full of activities it was insane! I don't remember if I mentioned this before but Baytown does not mess around with service. They have two food drives a week where we fill about 200 cars with huge boxes of food. Service is my absolute favorite thing in this world and I am so grateful to be a missionary. I get to share messages about Christ AND serve people I don't know? BINGO!!! I have learned so many life lessons in the short time I have been out and I cannot wait for everything else that God has in store for me. We are still trying to connect with the members and get a lot of the inactives to come to church. We have had a lot of success with getting in contact with people who past missionaries have a hard time contacting! Miracles people! If you guys could...we hav...

How is everyone doing? I pray for you all continually and hope you are doing GREAT! Alright kind of a confusing subject for this email but let me just say...the potatoes here do not even compete to the ones from Idaho. Sooooo people back in Idaho please eat a REAL potato for me okay?:) I get asked from everyone here if you can tell a difference and oh...you totally can and its actually really sad! The mission has been going great! The weather down here is FANTASTIC and I love it so much! I am finally getting in the groove of missionary life and it honestly is the best life! I think I would say my favorite thing about being a missionary is my focus is on other people every single day. I am here to serve other people and I love that my purpose is just that. Making people happy is my favorite thing to do and if I get to do that AND teach them the gospel...the best thing ever!!! My testimony of how true this gospel really is has been strengthened so much and I can't wait for all the ot...
