 Hello  everybody!!! I know that it has been a few weeks since I have written a weekly but the work is still going super well here in Channelview! My testimony has grown so much and I love these people more than I ever thought possible! I am still trying to get used to this no mountain or cold weather thing that exists down here in Texas! It has been in the 60s when I am expecting Idaho cold this time of year! I may never get used to it but hey...I'll take this warm weather! The more I am outside the better! One thing I have LOVED about my mission is making connections with people. Everyone calls each other family and that is really how it should be! The world gets smaller and smaller and who would have thought I would have made connections with people down in Channelview Texas? Not randomly that's for sure! HELLOOOOOO!!! I'm just gonna start out by saying that I absolutely love being a missionary and it seriously is the best work. I could serve my whole mission in the Pine Trails ward and not complain one bit about it! A lot has gone on since I last wrote and so many miracles have been happening and it shows me that the Lord truly watches over everyone! First, ROSALEE IS ON DATE!!! This lovely lady was a social media referral and she requested a painted bible. 6 weeks later she can't get enough of the Book of Mormon and basically invited herself to be baptized! She came to sacrament meeting for the first time yesterday and SHE BORE HER TESTIMONY!!!! She leaned to me and said "Is it okay if I go up there?" UH ABSOLUTELY! This was one of the most powerful testimony meetings I have ever been to. Everyone spoke about the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and how true the Book of Mormon is. HELLO EVERYBODY!!!! WOW WOW WOW! Channelview Texas is amazing and the Pine Trails ward is even MORE amazing! I have never met such loving and humble people in my entire life and I would not complain one bit if I stayed here for the rest of my mission! Lakeesha's baptism was on Saturday and it was B E A U T I F U L! She looked so so happy and she said she felt different as soon as she came out of the water. Her confirmation was Sunday during sacrament meeting and she was GLOWING! I love this lady with all my heart and I cannot wait to see where life takes her from here. Her two kids came to her baptism and they were so emotional! AGH if only I could capture the sweet spirit that was there and put it into words! As Bishop Partsch always says, "There are miracles happening in Pine Trails." HE IS SO RIGHT! The people here are so prepared to hear the gospel and it is such a blessing that I get to be a part of it! On Saturday, we went with a member to give food to this elderly ...

  HELLO everybody! I am alive and well here in Channelview and let me just say...this place is so magical. I have never met such amazing people in my whole life and I could serve my whole mission here. The love these people have for one another is so incredible and the Pine Trails Ward is so awesome and I am so so so happy to be here!!! So yeah uh I got a new companion...MY MTC COMP SIS HARPER!!! We freaked out when we found out we were going to be companions!!! If you can't already tell I LOVE Channelview. The people here are so prepared for the gospel and they are so open to hearing us. HEY EVERYONE!!! How is everybody doing? I love you all so much and pray for you guys all the time!  These last few weeks have been so crazy! I got the opportunity to go do hurricane clean up in New Orleans and Baton Rouge and it was so insane! There were about 475 missionaries so it was so cool to see everyone come together! Service is my favorite thing ever and it was such a cool experience! I learned that I never want to camp in the south ever again and I hate bugs...that's okay though!  On the flip side, we have seen so many miracles here in Baytown! My favorite quote is from Russell M. Nelson and he says, " The Lord loves effort because effort brings rewards that can't come without it." We were struggling finding people and we kept getting turned. We were in a pit and didn't know what more we could do. I learned that the best thing you can do is to keep pushing. We never gave up on these people and no matter how many times we got turned away, it motivated us e...

I was so sick this last week which was NOT FUN but hey the work doesn't stop! I have found here that there are so many different ways to do missionary work and it is never an impossible thing. There is always work to be done!  We saw many miracles here in Baytown this week and the people are so sweet. One thing that I have loved about Texas is that people are not afraid to talk about God. He comes up in every single conversation with the people I come in contact with and I know that that is something that I want to be better at! Jesus Christ is the center of everything and everyone deserves to know how they can strengthen their relationship with their Savior!
